The Bamboo Basket in Westminster provided us with a very appetising lunch. Unfortunately at 2.00 p.m. on a weekday afternoon the restaurant was deserted. Not their fault but it did affect the atmosphere.

Not my fav Chinese, and with their prices I would have hit either the Phoenix palace in marylebone or pearl Liang in paddington. In short the food was okay at best and the service was pretty appalling.

The ambience however is pretty cool, the decor is rather modern Chinese with wooden bamboo sticks on the walls. Sat at a quiet corner of monck street in Westminster, good place to have a chat with your friends as it hardly ever gets busy.

The Bamboo Basket provided excellent food but at a cost and with very pedestrian service. This was a shame the dishes (for a group of 10) came separately and over a quarter of an hour period for each course.

When it came the food was excellent but was more expensive than we were expecting which was embarrassing as I was not paying.

Excellent food and service.

Front of the house needs to be nicer - it feels like they are not keen to get customers through the door!. Also the portion sizes are variable from one time to the following!

Bamboo basket near Westminster was a great little spot for pre NYE nibbles. Food was lovely and a pleasant vibe. Nothing OTT here, which was nice, just enjoying the food and company.

Bamboo Basket Central London, a little hard to find but glad we did - lovely meal, reasonably priced, good service altogether a very pleasant night

A friend and I went to Bamboo Basket in Monck Street, London for lunch. We started with Dimsum, which was delicious. Then we each had a rice and meat course. The restaurant was not very busy, the service was very good and fast. It was relaxing and a good place to meet to catch up on news.

Now called the Bamboo Basket, this restaurant in Monck St is exceptional - great service and food in a calm environment.

Nice venue in a central part of London. Good with groups as well - we all got reasonable attention

Food a bit bland, but maybe we were a bit unlucky with our choice of dishes... Nice ambience but odd service (e.g. waiters constantly hovering around while you are eating). Not cheap.

This restaurant has now changed its name to Blue Bamboo. We had a great dinner here, the food was amazing as usual - much nicer than your average Chinese restaurant! Try the dim sum basket and the sweet and sour King Prawns - FANTASTIC! Note also, you get 25% off dinner (excluding Dim Sum), which is a nice bonus, although I don't know why they don't just make the menu 25% cheaper. I would not recommend desert here as it is overpriced - around £8.50. Overall - a great place!!

Made in China is now the Bamboo Basket 37 Monck Street London SW1P 2BL A real find. Good dim sum, delicious sizzling beef and lamb. Staff and surroundings rather unfriendly but food really good, freshly cooked by two chefs while you wait. We shall be back.

Lovely meal - scallop&prawn dim sum were a highlight. All you usual dishes, but done to a much higher standard. Note: this venue has changed its name.

An early dinner before a concert. We were the only ones in there - perhaps it was too early, or just a part of town where people don't go out for dinner. The food was wonderful though, best chinese I've had in a while, and we got a mid-week discount, which was a nice surprise!

Enjoyed the meal at Made in China Monck Street - will go again!

Great place and good location. Dim sum was fantastic!

Wasnt very busy when we visited so was a quiet and laid back experience. The food was cooked very well although the noodle dishes were a little plain.

The food here is really good - try the lamb shank with Red Curry sauce, it is amazing! The service was fast, but it was too fast. The waitress cleared our plates before the whole table had finished eating which I thought was a bit rude. Although the food is good, I think it is too expensive for what it is.

Made in China is consistently of a high standard - food, service and ambience yet again all very good indeed.
