About Browns Bar & Brasserie - Covent Garden

Only moments from the tube station and convenient for both Covent Garden and Leicester Square, the bustling Browns Restaurant is an elegant West End hang out where theatre-goers, central London workers and tourists in the know gather. Set within the one time Westminster Courts, converted in the 90s, Browns Restaurant is beautifully appointed with sophisticated décor and a relaxed but upmarket atmosphere. An all day brasserie, Browns Restaurant offers a well stocked bar of fine wines and cocktails as well as coffees and teas, providing the ideal setting for getting away from it all in the afternoon. Pre- and post-theatre menus are very popular here at Browns, but you’ll also discover a wide selection of a la carte dishes, nibbles and platters to share, all made using seasonal produce and concentrating on classic and modern British and European favourites with a few surprises thrown in for good measure.

Browns Bar & Brasserie - Covent Garden you know what you are going to get at Browns - simple Brasserie food and it is always in my experience good quality at a fair price. We had very good service on a busy Friday night but weren't rushed at all. Good choice for West End.

Super affordable afternoon tea. Friendly staff and good (if somewhat loud) atmosphere. At £13.95 for afternoon tea for two, definitely worth a visit.

Excellent venue for a quick meal before the opera , friendly and prompt service.

Very busy and noisy so not ideal if you are hard of hearing.

We went to Browns Covent Garden before going to the theatre; it is a very suitable venue for that as you can go back after the show and have dessert, which we did. This gives a pleasant feeling of lack of urgency; however, it is still sometimes difficult to catch a waiter's eye. It is a big venue and rather noisy, but at least the music isn't obtrusive. The food is pleasant if a little unoriginal.

We had a wonderful afternoon at Browns. After making our reservation for 4 people we arrived to find 2 extra friends there who wanted to join us. The staff at Browns were very accommodating and found us a table for 6 people straight away. Food, drink and service were all excellent. Will definately be back again.

The food was lovely, but the staff were a little slow to collect our bill. I would probably go again. Vegetarian options were also quite limited which was a shame.

Excellent service

We were at Browns Covent Garden last Sunday. The service was prompt. We had fish and chips which was excellently prepared. The Guinness steak pie was very well prepared too.

Despite being absolutely packed the reception at Browns in London's St Martin's Lane was relaxed friendly and efficient. The meal was tasty and good value and the service exemplary, particularly bearing in mind the crush.

Food was ok. Was a very young crowd with lots of hen do's so loud on a Saturday night. Service was excellent!

We went to Brown, Covent Garden on Saturday night and was excellent service and ok food.

Nice atmosphere

Browns St Martin's Lane, London is a great venue to meet friends for a meal. Booking is recommended tho as it does get busy. Food is consistently good and the service is friendly and relaxed. It is not quick and the waiters leave you alone to get on and chat so if you are looking for a quick meal I would not recommend but if you want a nice leisurely evening where you are not rushed this is a great venue.

Good service, tasty food, plenty of room for central London venue.

I have been to Browns Bar and Brasserie in Covent Garden many times and as always it delivers a efficient ,quick and friendly service for pre theatre diners,as I was. I will go again

We had a lovely meal at the Browns Bar and Brasserie in Covent Garden. The service was great and food fantastic!

Very good food indeed and great cocktails trhat got us on our way - we also had vouchers so had 2 course meal and a few drinks for about £20

Excellent place for pre theatre as well

We ate early with the pre-theatre menu. It was excellent value and a good selection of choices. The restaurant was totally full so very loud. However we were kindly given a good table by the stage door entrance so it didn't affect us too much. Wouldn't have wanted to be seated in the main area though. Service was a bit slow but again think this was because they were so busy. Overall would recommend but if you are going to the theatre do allow a couple of hours at Browns on a Sat.

We went on friday night, and although the food was good, though not outstanding, the service was incredibly slow.

Browns Brasserie, London. Good atmosphere; pre-theatre meal had reasonable choice and was quite good value. Staff friendly and efficient.
