About El Olivo

A favourite local Spanish tapas restaurant, El Olivo restaurant is located on the ever more chichi Stoke Newington Church Street, within reach of the rail station as well as the bars and boutiques of the area. The dark wood interior of El Olivo provides a cosy atmosphere in which the lively buzz of chatter makes for the sort of cosmopolitan vibe you might find in any cool European city tapas bar. While the very Spanish dish of paella is indeed an El Olivo specialty, the remainder of the menu, classic sharing tapas dishes in the main, blends together the favourites of the Spanish interior with a heavy dose of Mediterranean flavour from the coastal regions. The wine list is almost entirely new world but with all the expected Spanish additions – including excellent cava - all for good, low prices. With its chilled atmosphere, Stoke Newington’s El Olivo is a bustling meeting place getting a whole lot of amor from hungry North London locals.

El Olivo - 24 Stoke Newington Church Street, London, N16 0LU

Had a really nice meal for two here. We shared the Paella, as recommended on Top Table, which was full of fish and very filling.

Had whitebait & croquetts for starter. Whitebait was lovely but the Croquetes were a little unexciting. - Would have liked a bit more sauce with both the straters!

Overall a very enjoyable meal.

Amazing food and great value - would definitely go again!

Good food but a little pricey than last time we visited

The food in El Olivo was absolutely delicious! So much choice on the tapas menu, and so many interesting combinations. Even the simple stuff like the spanish omlette was tasty. The only let down were the king prawn dishes; the prawns definitely weren't king and instead were very small substitutes! Generally good service and nice ambience.

Absolutely fantastic. Highly recommended.

Brilliant food at great value

Good food & service but a little too cramped in & noisy

El Olivio was a nice meal, w took our 14 year old and she was aso very happy. good service, would return which is good given how many choices there are in Stokey

Visited El Olivo in Stoke Newington for a birthday meal with a booking of 10 of us. Ideal for this kind of evening as it is cheap, cheerful and the food does the job. Most of the dishes were good (although disappointed in the size of the prawns). Staff friendly and no issues with service. Would go again.

I would recommend El Olivo in Stoke Newington to everyone! Great food, excellent service, and good value for money.

El Olivo is a pleasant Spanish restaurant with decent, well-priced tapas, friendly and attentive staff and a nice atmosphere. We had 6 dishes of tapas, a dessert and a bottle of house red for £40 and left very satisfied after a complementary digestif.

El Olivo has nice rustic Spanish ambience. Tapas were reasonably sized portions and tasty. Service was good and friendly.

excellent food & service

Fifty plus tapas to choose from with a few reasonable wines. Good selection including calamari and octopus, with plenty of chorizo. Three tapas each enough for most.

El Olivo in Stoke newington in a cosy little restaurant on Church Street. Great place to visit as a couple or a larger group. Great food!

Very quiet on the Wed we visited but really nice tapas, generous serving sizes and excellent service. Also really great prices.

Very friendly staff and really warm ambience make up for the fact that though the food was nice, it wasn't amazing. I would personally recommend the tapas over the mains.

It was good value for money overall and I certainly left there happily stuffed.

Good good, good prices and service. If you have a chance - book a table on the second floor by the rails- has a good view overlooking the restaurant. Do not forget to order a pitcher of sangria

El Olivo in Stoke Newington does well on Chruch St where there are so many places to eat. Staff very nice and excellent value since the portions were quite big for tapas. We also got free liquers which was nice.
