About English's of Brighton
Among the oldest and most well known restaurants in the UK, English’s of Brighton is found in the city’s famed and fabulous Lanes. Set within what was originally three fishermen’s cottages, and with wonderful pavement dining too, English’s is atmospheric and utterly traditional with a touch of grandiose Edwardian styling which undoubtedly appealed to such luminaries as Charlie Chaplin, Vivien Leigh and Joan Collins - just a few of English’s infamous fans. Owned by the same family since 1945, English’s maintains its commitment to serving the finest seafood in the area with a special emphasis on locally caught oysters. Head Chef Gavin Leigh prides himself on using ingredients sourced nearby wherever possible and insists on sustainable seafood from accredited suppliers.
