About Hispaniola

Permanently moored on the River Thames alongside Victoria Embankment, just opposite the London Eye, the R.S.Hispaniola is a beautiful restaurant and bar. All day dining offers high-quality food in a relaxed, gastronomic haven, while you enjoy the fabulous views by day and night.

In addition to our exciting a-la-carte menu, we are also pleased to our All Day Menu which offers quick, light meals for those pressed for time. We have also created menus for pre-theatre diners and a set menu for lunch offering seasonal options.

The restaurant also boasts the finest wine cellar anywhere on the river and the adjacent bar provides delightfully elegant surroundings in which to enjoy a cocktail or aperitif before your meal - and, perhaps, another afterwards.

My friend and I went to Hispaniola near embankment for dinner. Service was very good and the voucher for 50% off food made it a reasonable price.

The food was ok. Sadly it was just ok. Very stock heavy and felt a little more home made and "kept warm" than I would have liked.

The place itself is very quirky and the view is quite wonderful (not for the sea sick though as the boat does rock slightly).

was very skeptical of having dinner on a boat but food was really great - loved the chicken dish. definitely will go back.

Had dinner on The Hispaniola with my wife before a night out in Covent Garden. Thought a meal on a ship on the Thames should be an enjoyable experience and we certainly were not disappointed. The food was lovely. I particularly enjoyed the Welsh rack of lamb. The service was first class. The staff were extremely polite and attentive. Add the magnificent views and romanticism generated by the gentle rocking of the boat and the light playing of the pianist really made for a wonderful experience.

We had lunch at the Hispaniola, Victoria Embankment, London on Saturday with our 3 year old.On the whole it was a pleasant experience. The food was good, although a little over salty for our tastes, and the service was attentive too. The view was very lovely and we enjoyed our lunch. The decor appears a lot more glamorous on the web images than in reality and it could be made a bit smarter. It was over priced without a lunch time special offer so we wouldn't eat here again at the price we paid.

Dated decor and needs updating. The furniture lets it down. The staff were very friendly and attentive, and with the right promotion it could be a major venue. The food was excellent, but it is of concern that a service charge is automatically added and the staff only receive 35%. I had it deducted and paid a cash tip, at least the guys who earned it will get the money!

very good food, but you have to ask for the tapas menu if you want it.

Food was very average, menus were drab and dirty, drum and bass musician the bar food area not in the table clothed restaurant downstairs, just really odd. Wouldn t return. Nice being able to sit outside overlooking the river.

Hispaniola - embankment 2nd visit to this restaurant - as previously excellent food

Hispaniola, London Embankment - Took some colleagues there for a business lunch. Restaurant was not very busy. Service a little bit slow but food was very good. Great location alongside the Thames. Would go back there

We dined here for the second time, this was for lunch and we were not disappointed. Although the restaurant was almost empty , this added to the experience and we felt we were dining on our own private yacht.

The service was extremely good and we were welcomed although we were late due to traffic diversions in the nearby West End. I asked for my Dover Sole to be off the bone and the Chef appeared at our table to do so, we were most impressed. Overall vgfm

Hispaniola, London

Quite a nice experience having dinner on a boat. Very easy to find and lovely food.

Four of us dined at Hispaniola at Victoria Embankment on a Saturday afternoon taking advantage of a 2 for 1 offer on main courses from the a la carte menu. The river was calm! and the dining room, service and food were of the highest quality. We all felt it was an excellent dining experience and will definitely go back again.

Hispaniola was absolutely lovely. The food, the service and the atmosphere was fabulous. The piano man was amazing, I was too shy to ask him to play Daniel by Elton John but he played Your Song anyway and that was good enough for me. I'll go back again soon, top night.

Food good but not special. Eating on a boat an interesting experience.

My husband and I were there for a pre-theatre meal on Thursday evening. the restaurant is lovely, but we were the only two people eating!! The views are stunning, although we found it rather choppy! Food was good, but if we had not been there on a 50% deal we would have found it rather expensive. We will definitely go back though.

lunch @ Hispaniola, Victoria Embankment. Had tapas as we wanted to sit out in the sunshine and they weren't serving a la carte food on deck. You order the food at the bar rather than expecting the waiter to take your order. Reasonable prices. Got busy after about 12.30pm. Watch out for the very steep ramp down to the boat at low tide!

The R.S. Hispaniola floating restaurant on the Thames is an interesting & quirky venue. I would recommend the bar for some quiet drink & likewise, the restaurant for some decent cuisine. The venue was empty on a Thursday night, so the staff were incredibly attentive and friendly. The Food was simple, but thought out and presented well. The wine list was good and had some stars, but the real star was the pianist, whose interaction with requests and jokes made the evening fun & interesting.

Hispaniola, Victoria Embankment, London was a complete dining experience. It took a little while to get used to the movement of the boat but we had a ball. I chose goat's cheese fondu for my first course, which was a bit heavy but my main course Chateaubriand, which I shared with my partner was delicious. The waiters were attentive without being intrusive and we thought it was very reasonably priced. This was a special place to take my son and his partner who have been travelling for a year.

Had a fantastic meal for a party of 13. The staff were brilliant. A really enjoyable evening.

This was the worst food that I have ever eaten in a restaurant in London.

The service was fantastic, the restaurant was beautiful, the piano player was wonderful. It's a real shame but the food was so poor, tasteless and bland that it really let down this lovely establishment. The starter was a soggy (but well presented) chicken attempt. The main of lamb chops was in a tasteless, unidentifiable brown sauce. It's pretty hard to mess up lamb chops.

Sack the chef.
