About The Drop Forge

We love a good pub
Relaxed venues where it’s comfortable to have drinks with friends, lunch with colleagues or dinner on a special occasion. Even on days off you’ll find us in the pub
We love quality
Whether it’s a sandwich, a pint of ale or a ribeye steak, we’re looking to bring great quality every time. We work hard to deliver this at a price point that represents value for you.
We love people
A great local creates a hub for the community. For us it’s not about stiff, super-efficient formal service. It’s about getting to know our customers and making them feel welcome.
We love the Jewellery Quarter
We didn’t know a lot about this fascinating area when we developed The Drop Forge. But it’s a great place to be. Creative industry and creative people make for a lively community.

Good food and service

We used the Drop Forge in the Jewellery Quarter 2 Mar 12 as a convenience after buying our wedding bands. It was convenient situated just on the edge of the main retailer outlets. A very pleasant visit. We arrived early and so had a quiet drink in very pleasant surroundings. Next time we visit it will be warm enough to use the terrace area. Menu choice was small but arrived piping hot, well presented and tasted scrummy. Staff were brilliant, taking time to chat. We will be back in April

Awful service - would take me all night to list - such a shame as food is nice as is wine when they finally arrive!

Drop Forge in Jewellery Quarter. Food quality excellent. Staff in short supply and very slow and inattentive. Otherwise a good experience and will repeat.

Expected it to be much busier. Food was lovely though. Wine list was good. The building is lovely. Choice of music was good. Would go back.

Absolutely lovely food and great value for money. Ambience was good and staff were very friendly, although at times they seemed more concerned with their own conversations but other than that great service. Overall a lovely valentines night out.

Lovely dinner - the sharing plates were the best bit, would be very nice over a few informal drinks as well. My steak was lovely and rare and my girlfriends main looked very nice. The whole thing was very well presented.

Only slight disappointment was that it was very quiet when we went (Monday night). I'm sure that on a weekend it would be perfect.

We visited the Drop Forge bar and restaurant in the Jewelery Quarter of Birmingham on a very cold February evening. The welcome was very warm indeed. The decor was quite spartan, which was in keeping with the original purpose of the building but there was pelnty of space and loads of soft seating in the bar areas. The menu was small but well balanced and the wine list was more than adequate. Portions were generous and service very friendly. Not very full when we were there but low noise levels.

I found this restaurant by accident and thought I would try it. The restaurant served food up to 5.30pm and then the al a carte menu from then. The decor and ambience is excellent. The food is varied and good quality. I would recommend this restaurant and bar. Difficult to find so try not to drive past it !

Service is also very good and the restaurant and bar are set in an old building. It has some character.
