About The Henry Root

Situated on West Brompton’s leafy Park Walk, amongst beautiful mansion flats and boutiques is The Henry Root, a sophisticated restaurant with a real neighbourhood feel. Quickly becoming a part of the local social scene, this lovely dining room is a place to relax, step out of the rat race and converse with friends over good food and perhaps a glass of wine. Put together in a way that speaks of innate, naturalistic style, The Henry Root dining room is two parts suave to one part left field. So alongside sleek dark wood floors and designer seating you’ll find strange portraits and reclaimed rise and fall lamps. An open kitchen gives a glimpse in to the restaurant’s inner workings, while a large blue painted bar is lined with high stools for casual perching. Not only are patrons of The Henry Root offered a full menu of delectable dining with bistro style main dishes, but offerings extend to charcuterie plates, small dishes of both hot and cold French-esque tapas and nibbles.

Great meal at The Henry Root last night. It has a cosy neighbourhood restaurant feel to it with dim lights and a relaxed atmosphere. The food was good (not exceptional) my macaroni with truffle was delicious - perfect for a cold night!

Our waitress was on her first day so was a bit unsure, but otherwise the staff were friendly and helpful in their matching lumberjack shirts.

A slightly older clientèle (on a Wednesday night) but it felt quite sophisticated and eclectic.

Would recommend.

This place is nice with a good atmosphere, but always just feels a little bit overpriced on certain dishes. Some are great - some are too expensive/tiny for the price. We had a very friendly waitress, but service was a little "American" style - ie, whisking plates away when other person not finished, and wine glasses when not yet quite finished. Had to keep saying "haven't finished that yet" . Intersting wines by the glass, but some staff don't seem to have great knowledge of many of them.

We had a large group booking and they could not have been more helpful. The food got great reviews from our team and the service was fantastic.

Excellent hanger steaks; squid not up to scratch - plancha not hot enough and chorizo barely heated through.

Becomming one of our favourite place, service a little slow but nice...

The Henry Root in Chelsea is a nice little restaurant. Good food, friendly staff. A bit pricey but would go again

The Henry Root, Chelsea Blokey grub, quay-side ambiance, chummy service.

Great simple food that is well priced, especially for this location - the service is simply fantastic and the place has a wonderful charm. Highly recommended (we'll be back for cake next time!)

Th eHenry Root was an enjoyable venue with good service and reasonable food although the menu was somewhat limited in choice. The atmosphere was pleasant and the clientele also. I would return although £97 for 3 courses each (2people) and 1 bottle of wine was not that cheap. Service charge goes to the staff which we did check. Well worth a visit,

Henry Root, London.

Disappointing, 2 course menu with only one choice. . Mackeral was good but side salad smothered in a strong mustard sauce not to our taste, slice of sponge as second course.
