Very tasty food, nice wine selection. Be aware if you are after a cheap meal with the two courses for £11.99 you will get stung with the alcohol. Great atmosphere, live music- not the place to go for a quiet, intimate evening. All round very happy.

Visited Sam's Chop House Leeds for the first time on a Tuesday night and was very impressed. Although a little quiet at first a few groups came in and the bar filled up creating a nice atmosphere. Food was fantastic, hearty and tasty, especially the Pork Rump and Iced Gingerbread Parfait. Wine list is vast but easy to navigate and the waiter was knowledgeable to make a recommendation. The service was attentive and friendly but not in your face. Overall the food, service, and ambiance was brill

Sams Chop House, Leeds. Had a lovely Sunday Lunch with great Jazz music. The starters were great, everyone of our group enjoyed them. The mains were not as good, the meat was a little well done and the potatoes seemed like the days before! that was a bit disappointing, but the service was excellent, the waitresses were friendly. Another point to watch, the wines were very expensive, nice but overpriced.

This was the second time I had been to Sam's Chop House. I returned because the food for dinner was superb. The Sunday lunch was really nice! Recommend the Beef hash. Friendly service. First course a bit slow to come out ...but apart from that wonderful atmosphere and they had live Jazz. Perfect Sunday afternoon lunch! :D Will be returning when I am in Leeds again.

A real mixed bag. The veg, jazz and desserts were great. The meat was reheated and the Yorkshire puds worse than Aunt Bessie's. Worst of all is the wine list and service, which, for a place that has a full menu page dedicated to the sommelier (who you never see) is pretty rank to be honest. Gone right down hill since Sam's in Manchester of the 1990's.

We had a lovely dinner , very filling & delicous. So good my husband has gone again 3 days later with work colleagues. Lovely atmosphere with good band. Very helpful polite staff.

We went to Sam's Chop House in Leeds for dinner and really enjoyed it. The food is home cooking but done beautifully. The wine list was good with a wide range of super wines and the service was excellent. We especially enjoyed the puddings and the cheese board. Great atmopshere.

When we booked a table at Sam's Chop House, we did not know that it was one of the well known venues in the center of Leeds. The venue mixes the traditional and the modern very well. The food was good. The service was friendly but slow at times. Overall, we had a very pleasant time and would go back.

Fab venue, fab food, fab service :-) (Sams CHop House, Leeds)

Visited Sams Chop House, Leeds, having been a couple of times before and service and food lived up to expectations. A fab restaurant serving good quality locally-sourced English food. My only negative comment was that the band playing when we arrived and for about the first half hour or so were just a bit loud for a restaurant.

We are regulars now at Sam's chip house. Everything is as exciting as our 1st visit. The food and atmosphere are both excellent. Very highly recommended.

went Sams Chop House on monday night . Had 3 course meal with outstanding service , and truly helpful staff , great food , great ambience , good value for money.

I visited Sams with my wife and everything about the visit was first class. The food was outstanding; full of flavour and just enough to keep us wanting more. The service was both friendly and efficient without being over-powering. I had the corned beef hash and my wife had the pork belly and we shared sides of goose fat roasted potatoes and braised curly kale. Both dishes were beautiful. I can also recommend the crumble and custard. We will be back when we are next in Leeds

Great food, smoked duck a particular favourite, Steak and Kidney pudding huge, great atmosphere, very enjoyable place to be.

Quite nice food but a bit expensive for what you got

Enjoyed Sam'sChop House - not overkeen on style of live music but went for the food really

Two of us had dinner at Sam's Chop House, Leeds. We were rather late arriving and so missed the end of the special deal. However, what we ordered was well presented, wine was good, as was the general ambience. Sam's is certainly one of my Leeds favourite eateries!

Sam's chop house in Leeds. Nice meal in pleasant surroundings Certainly for Carnivours!

Slow service but a party of 18 had just arrived before us so no surprise and we were informed. When we got the food it was well worth waiting for and the market menu offers very good value for money with good ingredients well cooked and nicely presented. Excellent for city centre and good portion size for a table d'hote offer. Would recommend heartily for Leeds city centre and have done so already to family who live there.

arrived and they had wrong time down for reservation. service was slow, forgot chips on one of the meals and forgot to bring steak knives initially. food was nice but slow service and dissapointed with this.

Sam's Chop House in Leeds is a lovely venue bursting with character. Their offer for two courses at £11.99 is well worth the money! The food is proper homely food I remember from my childhood with items such as corn-beef hash and home made rice pudding. Great place for a relaxing evening meal with no hassle. You can sit relax, relax and enjoy the evening. Highly recommended.

Really nice meal at Sam's Chop House in Leeds - quiet when we arrived at 6.30 but soon picked up. Lovely decor and a live band entertained us during our brief wait for our food. Can recommend the onion soup, the only issue was not having a steak knife for my gammon. Would happily visit again as it is excellent value.

Sam's Chop House Leeds - the best steak and kidney pie.

Nice meal, good atmosphere

Sam's Chop House was very good value for money, food was tasty and staff were attentive.

Sam's Chop House, Leeds.

My family and I decided to go to Sam's for a Sunday lunch. We all had a starter, which were all excellent. However, wasn't overly impressed by the Sunday lunch.

The service and ambience was fantastic. I would go there again, but not for a Sunday lunch.

We were squeezed in on a busy evening. The meals were a bit rushed, excluding some of he specified content of the steak meal

Sam's Chop House is a superb location for Sunday lunch in Leeds city centre. Our party was incredibly happy (and full) after our meal and we are looking forward to the next opportunity to visit again. Highly recommended.

Sams Chop House - Leeds. Visited Sams last night for new years eve with the girlfriend and was pleasantly surprised, the atmosphere was great, no hussle and bustle, food was lovely and Theo and the staff were awesome. Really looked after us, will be visiting again.

Fantastic Service, Great Atmosphere and Great Food. Even though it was probably the busiest night of the year, and we were having the X-mas party menu, the food was all of a very good standard

A first class dining experience - thank you.

Somewhat disappointing from the offhand service (we waited 15 minutes for our drinks order to be taken at a quiet time), to the completely destroyed pork belly skin (would have broken our teeth to have eaten it).

The black pudding and salad starter was good and the bacon steak acceptable

We visited Sams Chop House on a very busy Saturday evening. It was so busy the staff forgot our main course. To be fair the manager helped to resolve the situation. Apart from the service the food was very good.

Not the best roast dinner ever. Nice venue, jazz in the background was pleasant. We were warned the beef would be rare, but in fact it was overdone. Nice enough, but it could have been a lot better for the money.

I took two friends from Switzerland to Sam's Chop House in Leeds on a very busy Saturday night. They were very impressed with decor and the fact that it was quite a traditional place. It was good to be able to book and our table was ready for us. The menu choice is interesting with something for everybody. The waiting staff were very obliging, even when we messed up the order and then asked for extra chips and condiments. Chips were really, really good! Food v. good & reasonable.

Lovely restaurant, great ambiance, however the food was disappointing. I ordered the breast of lamb with barley broth and dumplings. There was far too much fat on the lamb, at least a 70- 30 ratio of fat to lamb, and the dumplings were not cooked, it was just sticky dough. The waitress was also rather lacking in enthusiasm. However the live music was great and the choc pudding rocked!

Sam's Chop House in Leeds offers great food and service in a nicely quirky setting. The £11.99/£13.99, 2/3 course Market Menu is extremely good value for for money, the portion sizes are big enough to satisfy without leaving you feeling stuffed. The bar area is a good pre-dinner meeting venue too - well worth a visit!!

Loved it! The atmosphere was very lively and perfect for a post work Friday drink and meal. The food on this offer was very good value for money.

Sam's Chop House, Leeds.

Let's start with the positives. Food was excellent. As a group, we had the lamb (which was divine), the steak and kidney pudding (which is a huge serving but worth having even if to burn the calories off over the next few weeks) and the fish and chips (which was equally excellent) Decor was great - a nice departure from the modern decor one usually comes across.

The negatives: Not many. The service was quite slow. They had run out of steak on a Saturday! Tut tut!

nice relaxed atmosphere. half way between a restaurant and a pub. attentive service and just quirky enough.

Good service, simply, well cooked food. Steak & Kidney Pudding was excellent

Sam's Chop House in Leeds was a really good place for lunch. Feels like a proper traditional pub serving excellent winter warm food. We had the 2 course meal deal which was excellent value for money. Liked the music as well - would definitely visit again.

Unfortunately not the romantic meal as planned. We were seated between two large and loud parties. Otherwise food was tasty. Service was a little slow and we waited a long time for drinks to appear. When they arrived we had the G&T, wine and water all appear at the same time. Toilets were clean and presentable but unfortunately there was a bulb gone in the ladies so was rather dark in the cubicle. Otherwise service was pleasant and friendly.

Food was good, live music brilliant.

Speed of service very poor and the attentiveness of staff was extremely bad.

Oh, and they didn't have our booking...

Very quiet as monday lunchtime, very attentive service. Corned beef hash starter very good, bacon chop really lovely. Recommend the parkin with toffee sauce for pudding.

We went to SAMs chop house in Leeds. Food and service were good! We weren't asked if we wanted any sides which meant none of us had any veg which was a little disappointing! Overall definitely worth a try.

Food not as good as previous visits

Sams Chop House LEEDS.

This was my 3rd visit and the food continues to impress. British Food at its best. Cosy surrounding, great ambience and AMAZING wine!

Had an amazing night! Definately worth another visit in the future.

The food at Sam's Chop House is not bad but unfortunately the service wasnt great - a bit slow and we were brought the wrong wine.

Good, basic food which is well cooked. No frills.Excellent wine list.Noisy, buzzy ambience-quite a number of large groups.Attentive service.2 negative points-not many healthy options on the menu! The peppercorn sauce that was ordered with the steak was tasteless, more like gravy. We were a couple and it is more of a group place but overall a pleasant experience!
